Micro Focus Data Protector software is automated backup and recovery software for single-server to enterprise environments, supporting disk storage or tape storage targets. Now, this software is owned by Micro Focus so it is called Micro Focus Data Protector. Earlier it was being known as HP Data Protector when it was owned by HP.
To check the status of the Data Protector services run the omnisv status command. If a service is up and running then the status of the service will be shown as Active.

Status: All Data Protector processes/services up and running.
If a service is down or not running then the status of the service will be displayed as Down.

To make the service up or active, restart the Data Protector services using the command shown below:
C:\Windows\system32>omnisv stop
HPE Data Protector services successfully stopped.
C:\Windows\system32>omnisv start
HPE Data Protector services successfully started.
