Problem
I was not able to browse the ‘Internal Database’ sessions through Data Protector Manager Console. When I tried to open the sessions I got the below error:
[12:1166] Internal Database error. The IDB services are most probably not running.
Reason
The Internal Database services were not running. When I checked the status of omnisv -status through the command line it was found that hpdp-idb service was down.
C:\Windows\system32>omnisv -status ProcName Status [PID] =============================== crs : Active [1424] mmd : Active [6132] kms : Active [3928] hpdp-idb : Down hpdp-idb-cp : Active [3780] hpdp-as : Active [5832] omniinet : Active [1928] Sending of traps disabled. =============================== Status: At least one of the Data Protector processes/services is not running.
Solution
Stop the Cell Manager services using the command omnisv -stop and restart them using the command omnisv -start command.
C:\Windows\system32>omnisv stop HPE Data Protector services successfully stopped.
C:\Windows\system32>omnisv start HPE Data Protector services successfully started.
Now check the status of the
C:\Windows\system32>omnisv status ProcName Status [PID] =============================== crs : Active [24448] mmd : Active [33824] kms : Active [40064] hpdp-idb : Active [50564] hpdp-idb-cp : Active [51032] hpdp-as : Active [44000] omniinet : Active [34144] Sending of traps disabled. =============================== Status: All Data Protector processes/services up and running.
Note: I faced this issue on HPE Data Protector A.09.08 running on Windows server 2008.
