You can share the file or folder with specific people from your windows server 2008 system by the process as shown below:
Share Windows Folders
- Right Click on the folder and select option Share With >> Specific People
- Select the user from the drop-down list and click on Add button.
- You will get the error message “Windows was unable to find the user” if you have been created the user where Full Name contains the space or _.
- To resolve this issue and share a file or folder successfully, now you need to delete the user and create a new user without space or _ in the full name of the user.
- Now, again try to share the file/folder and select the user from the dropdown list.
- The user will be successfully added to the list, you may change the permission level by clicking on the triangle icon against the user. Now click on the Share button to share the file or folder;
- Click on the Done button.
Your file/Folder has been shared successfully with the user (sonu.patel in this example). Now, this user may access the shared folder from anywhere, where this system will be accessible.
